About

About Us

Cost notwithstanding, the need was clear. These organizations needed the services, operational insight, strategic planning, and technical guidance. In short, they needed the ability to look “over the hill” and prepare for what was next, while also performing at their best today. What they needed was Kelcey & Co.

Over the past few years we built the firm that exists today. We chose to focus our efforts along three key avenues where we felt that we could be the most impactful and deliver the greatest value for the community-based organization.

First is our Consultancy and Advisory Services where we fill the role of strategic trusted advisor role. We support the organization by being the “go to” partner for management and operational consulting; taking strategic vision, mating it with day to day operations, finding opportunities to be efficient and smart about meeting the mission with the resources at hand.

Next is Technology and Program Support Services which we refer to as “Supplemental Brainpower.” We realize there are key tactical skills and artifacts that our clients require but do not maintain in-house capabilities to deliver. These services include survey design and quantitative analysis, information architecture and database development, geographical information systems, etc.

Our final service area is training. We immediately realized that one of the key strategic items missing in several of these organizations was ongoing training as a key foundation for capacity building. Therefore, we develop a training strategy and platform that enables us to teach organization process and tools simultaneously and consistent with the organization’s mission and strategic goals. Not just training, but training within the context of the organization.

With this structure and approach we have and will continue to create value for today’s community-based nonprofit. We are in an environment where funding organizations are increasingly demanding more robust metrics and proof of efficacy. The community-based nonprofit has two responses: One: be as efficient as possible in delivering services and operating the enterprise. Two: be able to easily derive reliable metrics not only for the funding community, but for internal consumption and operational improvement.

We are living in an era of constrained resources. There is less money to go around and there are more claims for the funding that is available. Funders want to ensure that they are backing organizations that can deliver service to the implementation level with high quality, high efficiency, and high effectiveness. Community-based organizations also seek to “do more without more” and meet the increased needs of the community as effectively as possible.
And Kelcey & Co can help them get there. That’s why we are here. And maybe we can help you too.

Kelcey & Company provides three types of services: Business and Technology Strategy, Personal and Professional Coaching, and Technical Education. All of these service lines are filtered through the lens of Systems Thinking and fundamental Systems Engineering principles. By taking this approach, we ensure that our clients have the skills, capabilities, and capacity to not only execute on their goals, but also have a deeper understanding of the underlying core issues, and thereby be better positioned for long-term strategic success.
